What a summer it was! Spent valuable time with my family in Catalunya (Spain) and the Provence (France), visiting (besides the beaches) wonderful historic sites and villages, musea, concerts, performances and most satisfactory: longtime friends!
Reloaded! Now back on the block for the -definitely exciting- upcoming season with a dazzling start and some new adventures that I will enduldge (more later).
09SEP 2000 Drummers Aan Zee-Cesar Zuiderwijk
Thanks Cesar Zuiderwijk for incorporating me in your fantastic ‘2000 Drummers Aan Zee’-project. What an experience that was!
Jazz season at JSW Wassenaar ended with a great allstar-jazz performance. The night of Friday, May 18th was everything I wished for: a get together with longtime musician-friends like Karel Boehlee, Toon Roos, Frits Landesbergen, Boudewijn Lucas, Charli Green, Bert Damsma, Bob Wijnen en Ellister van der Molen resulted in a nice NYC style- jamsession.
This Spring I recorded an album for Christian Hassenstein at Fattoria Musica Osnabruck, Germany. A favorite studio with great facilities and incredible views from all windows. I used my early Seventies Gretsch shells, I think it came out quite nice. Keep you posted!
SPRING&SUMMER-DrumPeople are very busy at the moment with their highly visual event performances cruisin’ Hollands most prominent venues like the RAI, Concertgebouw and Beurs van Berlage. Check www.drumpeople.nl for updates.

One of the most intriguing projects I ever was part of is the Kings of Lies. Guitarist, poet, musicologist and filmcomposer Francis Kuipers has a unique sound and style that we documented on a brand new album full of Kuipers’ originals. Recorded in Studio 150 with tech wizard Joeri Saal, producer and bass guitarist Sam Tjioe asked me to take care of the rhythm tracks and co-production. Music and more info follows shortly.

Agnes Goslings’ CAIS was nominated for the Edison Awards in the category
World. I play brazilian percussion on several of the tunes of this wonderful
album full of Milton Nascimento compositions, next to drummer Richard
Spaven, pianist Gideon van Gelder en bassist Robin Mullarkey. Thanks,
Agnes and producer Vincent Helbers, for having me. My honour!
